The university will host its Military and Veteran Recognition Ceremony on Tuesday, May 12th, 2020 from 4-5:30 pm in Holmes Lounge, with a reception to follow. During this event, students will be honored for their service and achievements and will receive red, white and blue honor cords to wear during Commencement. Students are encouraged to invite a faculty or staff member who was instrumental to their success to cord them during the ceremony.

This event will recognize graduating veterans, service members and ROTC cadets and is open to guests, faculty and staff supporters, and the entire WashU community.

Graduating students will be required to RSVP in advance in order to participate. RSVP information will be available in the Spring 2020 semester.

Students graduating from Washington University in St. Louis gathered with friends and family, faculty and staff for the 2019 Military and Veterans Recognition Ceremony, “Mission Accomplished,” on Monday, May 13, 2019 in Risa Commons of College Hall on the Danforth Campus. Provost Holden Thorp, Executive Director of the Sever Institute Joe Scherrer, and graduating student veterans Ryan Harbison, Elliott Hughes and Angela Peacock delivered remarks. The Office of Military and Veteran Services hosted the event.
