The Kaufman Fund

The Kaufman Fund (TKF) is dedicated to helping veterans in need and strives to bring the veteran community together to help those in need of housing, counseling, healthcare, rehabilitation, and legal needs.

TKF created a Veteran Mental Health Collaborative with the St. Louis VA and community-based mental health service organizations to provide help to veterans of all ages by improving access to clinical services and mental health needs for veterans and their families. Agencies accept insurance, Tricare and VA community care (through the MISSION Act) and also offer sliding scale fees and provide pro bono counseling in limited cases.

TKF established its dental program with a group of local dentists to help low-income and elderly veterans who don’t qualify for VA dental services and need dental treatment.

TKF has a Legal Referral Program for veterans living in St. Louis City, St. Louis County or St. Charles County, where veterans can receive free legal assistance through their network of support agencies and attorneys. They collaborate with support agencies serving veterans in the area to identify the most needed legal services, both criminal and civil. They provide assistance to those who do not qualify for aid from other agencies through referrals to volunteer attorneys in private practice for little to no cost.

TKF runs its annual Trees for Vets program from October through December, providing free Christmas trees and stands to veterans.
